I'm Sarah Sanftenberg

Hello and welcome!! I'm delighted to see you exploring our website.

I've always carried a passion for creativity, and the dream of owning my own business has been a constant companion. The excitement of launching SouthPaw Stickers and embarking on this entrepreneurial journey is beyond words.

A bit about me: I'm happily married to my high school sweetheart, Chris, and together, we're blessed with two wonderful children, Madylin and Lukas.

Outside the world of stickers and entrepreneurship, you'll find us indulging in our shared love for camping - or as my husband fondly calls it, "glamping" - exploring the scenic wonders of the Ontario, Canada region. I'm an avid reader, and as you may have guessed, crafting and designing are more than just hobbies - they're my hearts delight!

Every business has a story, but seldom is it shared, and when it is, it tends to showcase only the polished aspects. At SouthPaw Stickers, we strive to share our story authentically, believing that by doing so, we can ignite inspiration in others to pursue their dreams.

Sarah, the visionary behind SouthPaw Stickers, embarked on a journey that spans over 16 years. Throughout the years, SouthPaw Stickers underwent various transformations, evolving from Crafty Creations (She was 16 at the time and thought that business name was genius) to SJD Designs, exploring diverse business names and ventures. From party planning to decorations in a box, Sarah's entrepreneurial ideas were abundant.

Numerous obstacles hindered her pursuit of her dreams, chief among them being the fear of failure and judgement. Fear, a potent force casted doubts on her passion for crafting and fostering concerns about the potential success of her entrepreneurial venture.

In May 2022, a transformative shift occurred when Sarah enrolled in a 12-month Leadership Coaching program designed for women. This program served as a catalyst, propelling Sarah to turn her entrepreneurial aspirations into reality. It empowered her to recognize that her dreams were not only attainable but achievable consistently. The key, she realized, was taking incremental steps, breaking free from the shackles of fear, and most importantly trusting in herself.

Following some self-reflection, vision work, and goal setting, Sarah officially registered SouthPaw Stickers as a business in January 2023. The journey continued with Sarah overcoming self-doubt, fear, and persevering through the challenges, ultimately bringing her dream to fruition.

Stickers hold a special place in Sarah's heart, a source of joy that traces back to childhood and then onto planner stickers in her professional life. The act of embellishing her monthly and weekly planner spreads brought her immense happiness. Recognizing the potential to share this joy with others through entrepreneurship, SouthPaw Stickers was born.

Founder's Insight

THE NAME

At the heart of SouthPaw Stickers lies a deeply personal journey, guided by our founder, Sarah Sanftenberg. A left-handed visionary, Sarah's decision to bring her lifelong dream of launching a creative business to life was grounded in the desire for every facet of the venture to carry personal significance.

Selecting a business name proved to be a formidable challenge, a task made even more complex by the aspiration to find a unique and meaningful moniker. After considerable contemplation and extensive list of potential names that failed to resonate, Sarah knew the answer resided within her and would reveal itself in due time.

One morning, while immersed in the routine of brewing her morning coffee and reviewing her husband's latest name suggestions, inspiration struck - "SouthPaw Stickers." The name held a profound connection to Sarah's past; her grandfather affectionately referred to her as a "southpaw," a nod to her left-handed prowess. In this simple yet profound term, Sarah found the perfect reflection of herself in her business.

Trusting her instincts, Sarah embraced the conviction that "SouthPaw Stickers" encapsulated the essence she sought. A quick exploration of social media channels, website domains, and business registries confirmed her joy - the name was available. Without hesitation, she registered the name, and today, SouthPaw Stickers stands as testament to the personal, meaningful choices that define our brand.

THE BRAND COLOURS

Just as the name holds profound significance, the carefully chosen colours in our branding also carry a personal touch for Sarah.

The hues of pink and teal, featured in our brand symbolize the two bright stars in Sarah's life - her children, Madylin and Lukas. Each shade resonates with the uniqueness of her cherished relationship with her kids, infusing a vibrant and familial energy into our brand.

The colour orange, has a deep personal meaning, and serves as a poignant tribute to Sarah's grandmother, affectionately known as Nanny. The bond between Sarah and her grandparents was exceptionally close, with countless weekends spent together, creating a treasure trove of beautiful memories. When her grandmother passed away, orange roses adorned the memorial service, leaving an indelible mark on Sarah's heart. Since then, orange has been a steadfast and poignant colour, carrying the warmth and memories of her beloved Nanny into every aspect of Sarah's life.

THE TAG LINE

The birth of our tagline, "Stick a little joy in your life," emerged from a transformative discussion between Sarah and her Leadership Coach. In the midst of one of their coaching sessions, Sarah shared her enthusiasm for her budding business venture and the sheer delight stickers brought into her life.

As the conversation unfolded, the tagline crystallized, encapsulating Sarah's profound connection with stickers and her mission to share the joy they bring. Now, "Stick a little joy in your life" stands not just as a catchy phrase but as a guiding principle at the core of Sarah's commitment to infuse happiness into the lives of our customers through the simple, colourful magic of stickers. It's not just the tagline; it's a promise to spread joy, one sticker at time.
